About Vidya Trust

I am Brigadier Baqir Shameem (Retired), a founder of Vidya Trust, who has personally felt the change from eight decades ago to the present day. From writing in a classroom with a reed pen using white chalk ink on a black wooden tablet to doing the same on a word page on an Apple tablet. I am lucky!

The children in my village are not. To many of them, the computers and the like are a far cry, presently they are unable to enter a school room, and their parents are financially challenged and can not pay their monthly fees. The Government run school has no space and value to them as the building is dilapidated and teaching is absent and forgotten.
God has been kind to me, our family, and most of us, we do need to repay. This is precisely the intention of Vidya Trust.

From a humble start by converting our village ancestral home into classrooms we now are progressing into regular buildings having all the facilities and amenities that a school requires. The majority of the students are from families whose incomes range from $ 50 to $ 100 per month. For their children education is free. We intend to extend this facility to the children residing in neighboring villages through similar schools.

We invite you to join and participate in our Mission through your care and assistance.
